Quarters of Kaitlyn Haynes
Kaitlyn has woken up with a headache, probably the after effects of too much alcohol the night before. She had gotten up and taken a shower, drank some coffee and now here she was, pushing breakfast around her plate as she tried to understand the puzzle of Carson Goodwin.
They had had a good time last night, the expectation was there for her that he would come home with her, they’d spent the night together. Instead, he had kissed her goodnight at her door and headed home. Had he not been interested after all? Had she just come on too strong? Kaitlyn took a drink of coffee and pushed her plate away.
Quarters of Carson Goodwin
Carson was was recovering from a massive hangerover. He thought the night went well. She went out with the doctor last night, they had a great time, then he walked her home, and gave a kiss. Like a true gentleman. Today though, he was recovering from his headache, as he stumbled over to the shower.
After taking a shower, he stumbled over to the replicator, and ordered a strong coffee. As he slowly sipped on the coffee, he walked over to his terminal, and debated about what to do for the day? It was a day off. He stumbled towards his desk. He wanted to reach out to Kaitlyn, but he did not want to across as desperate or to needy. There was an unofficial protocol you had to follow.
Carson was still in his bath robe, when started to review his files, and they were so monogamous and boring to read. To many update reports, and everyone graveling to the new captain. He was not expecting anyone to stop by.
Outside Carson’s quarters
Kaitlyn stood wanting to press the buzzer but at the same time afraid. What if he thought she was too forward? What if he hadn’t liked her after all and that was why he didn’t come in when they got back to her place? She reached out and dropped her hand, then shook her head and pressed the buzzer. The worst thing he could say was he was busy.
Carson walked over to the door, wondering who was at his doorway. He instantly thought, maybe it was Kaitlyn. He quickly brush that idea aside. Kaitlyn would not stop by like this. That was hopeful wishing on his part. More than likely it was a member of his team, pestering him for something.
Carson walked over to the door, and opened it, as he called out. "Yes...." He said, as he was speechless. He had to be dreaming. This had to be a dream.
“I...” Kaitlyn was never at a loss for words. “I was wondering if you wanted to do something...together, you and I.” She winced, that sounded so stupid.
Carson was still wearing his bathrobe, as he grabbed Kaitlyn, and kissed her, as he dragged her inside his room. He was taking a chance. She had shown up unannounced, and at the moment, he was acting on instinct.
Kaitlyn kissed him back, not wanting to let go of him. She snuggled in close to him, liking how he held her close. This was what she had been craving ever since she saw him.
"Are you sure?" He asked, as they continued to kiss. Her arms, were dangerously close to the front of his robe. He did not want her to stop, but he had to be sure. This was what she wanted, and not just him.
“I have never been more certain,” Kaitlyn replies, kissing him. “Of anything.”
A couple of hours later.
Carson was breathing heavily. He was still grasping the reality, that he just had sex with Kaitlyn. He was not expecting it to be so sudden, they were cuddling on the bed. "Where do we go from here?" He asked her, hoping she would not run.
Kaitlyn hugged him. “I hope into a relationship that grows deeper with time.” She waited, holding her breath to hear what he said next.
"I hope sure we are exclusive. I am not really into the friends with benefits scene." Carson said, as he continued to massage her back, as he looked into her beautiful eyes.
“I only want to be with you,” Kaitlyn smiled, her sincerity showing in her eyes. “So yes, we are exclusive.”
"What about Preston?" Carson, asked hoping that part of her life, was now behind her. He wanted to focus on them. Not looking over his shoulder.
Kaitlyn smiled at him. “I never had feelings for him, not like I do for you. I was tired of being alone and feeling rejected. It was more of a competition for me and I am embarrassed at having to admit that to you.” She kissed him. “No one has ever made me feel the way you do.”
"I feel the same way, but I am not a competitive man. Just putting that out there. I am a one gal kind of guy. That gal is you." He said, as he embraced her kiss. The scene starts to fade.
“Good thing,” Kaitlyn said softly. “Because I feel the same way.”
